A HIP is the acronym for Home Information Pack which is the compilation of all the documents required by law prior to the exchange of contracts on a property. This includes local searches, land registary, title deeds, warranties, land charges, sale statements, fixtures and fittings forms, any leasehold or freehold documents etc.

As from 1st June 2007, it will become mandatory for the Vendor to produce these documents together with an Energy Performance Certificate prior to marketing their property.
